Migration and terrorism are the topics of the weekend. In today's news section, a key UN report spotlights the plight of the women who make up half of all migrating people around the world, and Somalia's sea smuggling season has begun with four boats and four deaths. Plus, in analysis, Jesse Jackson argues that the immigrants rights movement in the United States today is following in the footsteps of Thomas Paine, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and Martin Luther King. Also in that section, journalist Praful Bidwai takes a critical look at the world since 9/11, and doesn't like some of the choices that have been made.

On the climate change front, we look at a novel taxation idea coming out of Europe (in news) and offer links to a site that will help you take practical action to bring about positive change. In features, we bring you the story of a garbage collector in New Delhi who was kept off an international flight because, well, he didn't have the profile of an international traveler. Also in that section is a sampling of 'Back to School' stories from around the globe. And, if you're in the Washington DC or Austin, Texas areas, don't forget this weekend's rallies to "Break the Deadlock on Darfur"! Check action alerts for more on that.
