My favorite gift idea is to purchase a Made by Survivors products - they're gorgeous handicrafts made by survivors of sex slavery and human trafficking. The products are organic, renewable resources from around the world, including India, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the USA. I suggest of of the collectible ornaments made by Keep Texas Beautiful. It's a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to educate and engage Texans to take responsibility for improving their community environment. All proceeds fund community improvement projects.

The most meaningful gifts are, of course, the ones that are PERSONAL! There's nothin' like getting a gift brought back in from somewhere across the world in a friend's backpack for months, wrapped in newspaper of that country, or less... Or homemade crafts and artwork, which is what I also like to give. The best are cards of home-made paper... that's the good stuff!

When it comes to what I'd like to get- something functional and sturdy, long-lasting... but more importantly: IMPACTFUL. Choosing a gift that benefits someone or a community are the best kinds.
